WE’RE FED UP AND WHAT WE PLAN TO DO ABOUT IT
Frankly, we’re sick and tired of the pursuit of profits being the cause of dreadful decision-making when it comes to the health of the planet and of the human body. Plastics, toxins, pesticides, chemicals—they’ve just got to go. So we’ve decided to do our part, and here’s how:
TOP-NOTCH INGREDIENTS
We use the finest of everything: Organic, non-GMO whole-plant herbs, teas and flowers. Artisanal New Zealand Manuka and Kanuka honey. Outdoor cannabis that is grown using organic or biodynamic farming methods.
All of which means our products cost a little more. Plants that are free from toxic pesticides and chemical fertilizers are simply more expensive.

Our tins are made from recycled steel that can be recycled an infinite number of times. Plastic, even if it makes it through the proper recycling channels, can only be reprocessed 4-6 times.
A FEW TERRIBLE, BUT IMPORTANT, THINGS WORTH KNOWING
A tin containing a plastic lining is not recyclable. The metal will begin to decompose in 300 to 500 years, but the plastic will stick around for thousands of years, even forever.

Most tamper-resistant shrink wrap is plastic and will live on in perpetuity. Ditto for plastic childproof pouches.

Much of the world’s plastic ends up in the ocean.

Roughly 18 billion pounds of plastic flows into the ocean every year. If you’re struggling to imagine what 18 billion pounds looks like, it’s equivalent to five grocery bags filled with plastic for every foot of coastline in the world, or six bits of garbage for every fish. Even worse, scientists expect these numbers to double by 2025.

Plastic ensnares and kills marine animals and is eaten by the fish we consume. It’s also found in our table salt and drinking water. Microplastics are now common in the human body.

THE NOT-SO-TERRIBLE COST
Responsible packaging costs us about 10 cents more per package. We think that’s a bargain if it means that whales and birds don’t die with bellies full of plastic, our beaches remain places of beauty and our bodies don’t become further contaminated with hormone-disrupting plastic particles. Are we guilty of not maximizing profits? Maybe. Is it the right thing to do anyway? You bet your sweet ass it is.
